How we work

Every guide is reviewed for names, geography and cultural context. We distinguish documented facts from popular stories, cite reliable sources during research and correct errors when we find them.

Images and representation

Food photography should show the actual dish named. Illustrations are clearly visual devices and are never presented as documentary evidence.

Advertising

Advertising does not influence which places or foods we cover. Ads are visually separated from editorial content and never placed where they can be mistaken for navigation.
